Abu Hurayrah may Allah be pleased with him reported that the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge.” [Saheeh Muslim]

The first meaning of path is a path that one walks on, such as when people leave their home to any location to gain knowledge. The specific destination does not restrict the meaning. Thus, the meaning includes a person traveling to a masjid, school, university, or any other location where knowledge is being dispensed. This meaning also includes a student of knowledge traveling from his city to another city to seek knowledge as the first meaning includes anyone literally ‘treading’ a path (stepping the steps on a path) towards knowledge.

A secondary meaning of path is defined as a process by which an individual seeks knowledge from scholars and books. Therefore, treading a path is not contingent on the actual movement of an individual-for example, one who investigates rulings without leaving his city or attends classes with scholars is indeed treading a path in search of knowledge according to this definition.

In summary, “treading on a path” is categorized into two primary definitions:
a) Physically walking upon a path.
b) Intention to connect oneself to knowledge, irrespective of ones physical state.

Whosoever treads this path, Allah subhana wa ta’ala facilitates for him a path to Paradise. This is due to the significance placed on learning knowledge of the Shariah (Islamic Law), which enables an individual to understand the rulings that Allah has sent down. With this type of knowledge, both prohibitions and commands can be understood in there proper light, identifying the path that pleases Allah, and connect oneself with Paradise. This connection will manifest itself in the obedience of Allah in ones life, and every time the desire for treading on the path increases, so too will ones connection with Paradise.

In this hadith, describing the fruits of the path to gaining knowledge, we learn that it is critical to take advantage of the opportunity to seek knowledge, specifically in times of our lives when we may be free from other difficulties. If the goal is to tread a path to your Lord by seeking knowledge, the efficient student would take heed before the obstacles of life litter his path (and distance his goal).

<![endif]-->Every owner/king has his own space. I.e., they have their own limitations that no one should trespass, or do anything that would degrade, insult or disrespect him in anyway. We learn this from a hadeeth in Bukhari and Muslim (one of the 40 hadeeth), the halaal is clear and the haraam is clear… like the one who graves his animals near the himaa’. (the himaa’ is the grounds that a king has set aside only for his animals, the kings private property) Then the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said, every king has a himaa’ and the himaa’ of Allah is what He has prohibited. So if we commit that which is haraam, we will be accountable for it, but we must also remember that this is disrespect to Allah and it does not befit a slave to disrespect his Master in any way. This teaches us that we must remain within our bounds, so when Allah is Malik, we should remain as a servant near Allah and not do anything that he does not approve us.

If love is blind…

Then your understanding of it shouldn’t be!

Abdullah wants be the ideal Muslim husband. Zaynab dreams of romantic walks on the beach and long conversations over candlelit meals. Their union will be blessed, everyone agrees.

Months later, Abdullah is too busy and too clueless. Zaynab is turning into a nag and is frustrated! Both of them never imaged that marriage would be this…unfulfilling.

Is the honeymoon over? They wonder. What are they doing wrong?

It’s been hailed as the most popular AlMaghrib seminar… It’s been debated in bedrooms…discussed in boardrooms…deliberated over by eligible bachelors on the basketball courts and eligible sisters in their get-togethers.

We both love the topic and hate that we love it so much. So, let us be done with it.

Attend Fiqh of Love and be done with it. You’ll know it all.

Don’t talk to me about love and marriage and a baby in a carriage, you’ll say. I am a scholar on the subject.

”It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): “If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful.”- Quran 7:189

She lies awake late into the night, wondering if she can open her heart and dare to dream that marriage is plausible. He tosses and turns in his bed, desperately trying to strategize. How can he ensure that his proposal won’t be laughed at? He’s young. She’s young. Young, but so ready.

Is this even right?

Should they wait?

If yes, for how long?

If no, how do they go about it?

Make dua…Take a risk…Make dua…Take a chance…

Before you end up a disenchanted and bitter “confirmed bachelor or bachelorette!”

Out of the darkness, and into the daylight, see what can be!

So, you think you’ve found someone? But…

When you love…
How can you broach the subject with your parents?

When you love…
How can you be sure that you’ve found the right life mate?

When you love…
How will you know if the contracts are done properly?

When you love…
How long will it last?

When you love…
How much can you sacrifice?

Fiqh of Love for when you’ve found someone you think you can love forever!

So, you already have someone? But…

Does thinking about your marriage cause you tension or anxiety?

Are you tired of endless fights, anger and disappointment?

Do you desire to make your marriage happier, stronger and better than ever before?

Do you desire to make your union based on the pleasure of Allah SWT so that it will bring you happiness?

Fiqh of Love for when you are already with someone you thought you could be with forever!

So, you say that you’ve been down that road before? But…

Why are divorced Muslims being looked down upon?

Do you wonder if you’ll ever find someone who will turn your world around?

How would you act? What are the rules of engagement?

What are your rights? Your duties? Your responsibilities?

Fiqh of Love for when you’ve been burned by somebody you thought that you could be with forever!

Fiqh of Love with breakout sessions for wannabes, newbies, and divorcees! Our Shuyukh have you covered!

And if you’re the one who proudly flaunts your devotion to the single life, then this class is definitely for you! It’s the chance to rip through to the truth of what’s going on, and what you’re really afraid of when it comes to sharing your life with someone. Seriously, what do youreally fear?
